PETER OSBORNE ARTWORK
Peter Osborne is our fabulous Copyist artist, known for his incredible reproductions of world famous masterpieces. Peter is frequently asked to create commissions and no style is too challenging for him! From Picasso to Hockney - whatever the artist, genre or meduim, Peter will meticulously study the artist in question so that his reproduction is as close to the original masterpiece as possible. Every piece Peter creates is an original.
For lots of reasons! The most obvious is that it enables you to own your favourite masterpiece of all time at an affordable price. As we say above, each piece by Peter is a masterpiece in it's own right. So you're owning an incredible painting - it's not a print or poster! Peter will always aim to work in the same medium used in the original masterpiece - so usually oil or acrylic. Even when commissioned to create Matisse's Blue Nude, he did it in the same way as Matisse did - paper cut-outs! And each piece is really beautifully done; it takes weeks and weeks for Peter to study the technique of the Master and then to use it in the reproduction. The finished piece is always a sensational tribute to the original masterpiece.

THE NEW £20 NOTE
Today the new £20 note launches and it features one of Turner’s most eminent paintings The Fighting Temeraire; a tribute to the ship HMS Temeraire which played a distinguished role in Nelson’s victory at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.
Governor Mark Carney said: “Our banknotes celebrate the UK’s heritage, salute its culture, and testify to the achievements of its most notable individuals. And so it is with the new £20 banknote, featuring JMW Turner, launched today at Turner Contemporary in Margate. Turner’s contribution to art extends well beyond his favourite stretch of shoreline. Turner’s painting was transformative, his influence spanned lifetimes, and his legacy endures today. The new £20 note celebrates Turner, his art and his legacy in all their radiant, colourful, evocative glory.”
